VPAT is the template. ACR is the completed report. Government and enterprise buyers ask for both during procurement. We produce them for your product using our audit pipeline.
This summary is for orientation only. The full terms below are what apply.
VPAT stands for Voluntary Product Accessibility Template. It is a standard template published by the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) (opens in a new tab). A VPAT records how a product meets accessibility standards. Buyers in government and enterprise procurement ask for it during vendor evaluation.
The current template is VPAT 2.5Rev, published April 2025. See the definition of VPAT in our accessibility glossary.
ACR stands for Accessibility Conformance Report. An ACR is a completed VPAT. The VPAT is the blank template. The ACR is the finished document.
An ACR documents conformance against a chosen standard. A full report covers about 50 success criteria for WCAG 2.1 AA, plus the functional performance criteria table and the support documentation table.
VPAT 2.5Rev has four editions: Section 508, WCAG, EU, and INT. For a SaaS product sold to a US federal agency, use the Section 508 or INT edition. The INT edition is a superset. It is reusable for EU buyers.
Self-assessment is legally acceptable. Section 508 does not require a third-party vendor (opens in a new tab).
We produce VPAT and ACR documents for your product. We use the same audit pipeline and ACR generator behind our accessibility services. We tailor the report to the standard your buyer requires, and we help you choose the right edition.
WebAbility's own ACR is available on request. We share it privately during procurement. We do not publish it on this page.
Tell us which standard your buyer requires and we will scope the report. Use the contact form and an accessibility specialist will reply.
